Any book that helps a child form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his deep continuing needs, is good for him.

Welcome!
I have had the privilege of teaching at Cape Cod Hill School since 1994. I taught first and/or second grade until 2009, when I trained and was certified as a Reading Recovery Teacher. I am proud to be a native of New Sharon...born and raised! I now live in Temple with my husband, two children, and an active, but sweet, beagle named Bella. |
Reading RecoveryReading Recovery is a short-term intervention for first graders having extreme difficulty with early reading and writing. Specially trained teachers work individually with students in daily 30-minute lessons lasting 12 to 20 weeks. After a full series of lessons, about 75% of these formerly lowest students reach grade-level standard.

Title ITitle I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) provides financial assistance to states and school districts to meet the needs of educationally at-risk students. The goal of Title I is to provide extra instructional services and activities which support students identified as failing or most at risk of failing the state’s challenging performance standards in mathematics, reading, and writing.
